Maybe 1st lady, Laura Bush, really meant to say: " the Bush presidency is not a COMPLETE FAILURE"

Hard telling how anyone could say that "W's" presidency was not a failure...unless it was his wife. Sure...George went on vacation for almost 6 months once he was inaugurated in 2001...but don't blame him for 9/11.....and speaking of vacations he sure had to be awfully comfortable in Crawford, Texas as he sat by watching the Gulf take a direct hit byHurricane's Katrina and Rita...Maybe we should all say "Heckuva job!". And..... with nearly 100,000 civilians killed in Iraq since Rumsfeld helped to convince "W" that there were "no good targets" in Afghanistan we can certainly see how the Iraqi people should thank him in the future.Much less the hundreds of thousands of service personnel with injuries they will carry for the rest of their lives...not to mention those that never came home alive of which we must also count those pushed to the point of suicide.

Of course, we won't really mention the wasteland that has emerged from an economy gone to hell to the tune of $800 billion dollar bailouts...bank closures....massive home foreclosures...devastated retirement accounts, failure of longstanding businesses and rampant unemployment...Surely our grandchildren will want to give "W" a big thumbs up as they continue to pay for the recklessness which created this financial ruin. (And we all thought Enron was the worst of our problems....)

So Mrs. 1st Lady... if you would like for us to say: "3 Cheers" for "W"....your are right. It will be a long time coming.

  1. Mark you missed the fact that this presidency has been a resounding success for George's various friends and cronies. Think of the billions he has helped all of those great people profit from.
